Diabetic and proud

Updated: Feb 29, 2020

Apparently I am a healthy diabetic, as at my last diabetic annual eye check the Consultant appeared amazed; 'you have the eye-profile of a non-diabetic! I have never seen a diabetic, with such a long history with diabetes; present so well.

Apparently, I am a healthy diabetic; at my last diabetic retinopathy check the Consultant appeared amazed; 'you have the eye-profile of a non-diabetic! I have never seen a diabetic, with such a long history with diabetes; present so well.’

I have lived the fullest life possible and I really should not be here to tell anyone about any of it. Being hit, head-on, by a car speeding around 80 mph; whilst stood outside of my vehicle in the FAST-LANE of a major Motorway, defies any expectation of survival, diabetic or not. Even the Ambulance sent out that evening was expecting to collect a body for delivery to the morgue.

I decided to write my memoirs to impart to any willing audience:

· The issues we were faced with; and the expectation of dire diabetic consequences being all but guaranteed then!

· What was done to ensure I was able to live a near normal life, in the darker days. Even after surviving that life-changing accident I have still managed to achieve an A* diabetes report

· How I have lived and managed both myself and my condition; and how I managed to make diabetes live with me and not to control me in any way whatsoever!

This is a totally unique life journey; that is without doubt and I am so looking forward to bringing it to market soon.

In the meantime, I am providing this site to ‘blog’ and have a more direct contact point for any interested parties. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, concerns or ideas; I would like to invite you to join me here.
